BBCC will be the first in Malaysia and Southeast Asia to develop the first Canopy by Hilton Hotel. The hotel will be located in Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), on Jalan Pudu. Construction of this iconic development will be undertaken by ORANGEBEAM, in an RM177.4 million contract. With the development of BBCC’s First Canopy by Hilton Hotel, ORANGEBEAM will have a book record of RM1.39 billion.
Canopy by Hilton in BBCC will comprise a modern boutique hotel, with a total of 478 hotel rooms. A 28-storey building, where 20 storeys will house standard-sized rooms and suites, while the other 8 storeys will comprise the Back of House, Front of House, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) rooms, kitchen, food hall, and more.
One floor will be dedicated to the main and back lobbies, and another floor will be set aside for the mezzanine. There will be 4 floors dedicated to mechanical services, and another 2 floors dedicated to the kitchens and dining area.
According to ORANGEBEAM Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Faris Yahaya, the Canopy makes a refreshing addition to their portfolio and marks a key milestone for the company. They also thank BBCC Development for placing their trust in ORANGEBEAM, and in their expertise and capabilities.
The development of The Canopy will not only be a landmark creation in the Bukit Bintang area. It will also be a great place for visitors to stay in when visiting Kuala Lumpur and will create job opportunities for the masses. According to Dato’ Faris, ORANGEBEAM looks forward to working on this project with BBCC Development Sdn Bhd.
The Canopy will take 20 months to complete. It was set to commence on 7th October 2019, and is slated for completion in June 2021.
Aside from the development of the Canopy, ORANGEBEAM is also responsible for selected developments within BBCC itself. The BBCC Office Block is another one of their proud projects within the development, with a total contract value of RM322.4 million.
The office block comprises a 43-storey tower of office space and a mechanical room. There is also an 8-storey space of entertainment block, with 4 storeys of Cineplex, retail space, banquet hall floor, music presentation centre and main lobby floor. Also a part of the building are two floors of mezzanine hotel facilities and ample parking space.
